Maxi Lopez claims new boss Diego Simeone has already changed Catania in just a week at the club.

Simeone was appointed to replace Marco Giampaolo last Thursday in a shock move.

He lost his first game in charge to Parma on Saturday and takes on Milan this weekend.

"We have to win for our fans who deserve a big success against Max Allegri's team," said Lopez.

"Catania have shown that they are a match for anyone. If they leave us any space we'll manage to play good football.

"The slogan is 'strength and sacrifice' with Simeone. El Cholo has shown his character as a player, which he is now infusing in our dressing room."
