Inter have announced the signing of Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini who "absolutely didn't expect" to leave Genova this January.
The 26-year-old Italy international completed a medical this morning and moves to San Siro in a transfer worth €12m in cash.
Jonathan Biabiany has also been included in the deal. He joins Sampdoria in part-exchange.
Speaking to the Inter Channel, Pazzini said: "Hello to all the Inter fans. I am very happy to be here.
"It's all beautiful here. It's a great surprise and a great emotion. I came here and I still don't understand what has happened.
"In today's football you can never know anything. This was something very quick, which I absolutely didn't expect. But I repeat I am very happy.
"I have already played in blue and black [with Atalanta]. Now I find these colours again.
"There is a lot of desire and enthusiasm to do well on my part."
Pazzini will wear the No 7 shirt. It remains to be seen whether he plays this weekend.
