Sampdoria have sold Giampaolo Pazzini and Antonio Cassano, but Coach Domenico Di Carlo has to “train who the club puts at my disposal.”
The team that qualified for the Champions League feels like a distant memory, as the Blucerchiati have dismantled their squad with Cassano joining Milan and Pazzini moving to Inter.
“I train the players that the club puts at my disposal. My job is to get the best out of them,” shrugged Di Carlo.
“Pazzini is a great player and it was only normal that the big clubs would want him. I am convinced the squad will remain motivated and give everything for the Samp jersey.”
Part of the Pazzini deal brought promising young forward Jonathan Biabiany to Marassi.
“He can give you so many options in attack but, like Federico Macheda, these young players need a little time.
“At the moment, someone experienced like Massimo Maccarone is essential. Once we get to train together, we can work on new tactical solutions for this changed attack.”
