Sampdoria President Riccardo Garrone has turned down the opportunity to meet with the club's fans, claiming he is 'out of energy'.
Garrone's contentious decision to sell Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini has met with great protest at Marassi.
"The Cassano business and the reactions to Pazzini's sale has not left me indifferent," wrote Garrone in an open letter on the club's website.
"Aside from this, my battle against the darks forces and inequalities of our football continues and has taken a lot of energy out of me.
"Now I only ask that you show you are in a position to give your splendid support."
