Walter Mazzarri is concerned that the strain of Napoli's Europa League night in Liverpool could damage their performance against Parma.
“I have already hit the reset button after the 90 minutes at Anfield. Now we have to see how the team has reacted,” he said of Thursday's 3-1 defeat.
The Partenopei had taken the lead and dominated the first half, but collapsed to a Steven Gerrard hat-trick.
“Napoli left Anfield Road with our heads held high after leading for a long while and putting in a super performance for 70 minutes, in which we took the initiative in a legendary stadium.
“The trip to Liverpool took away valuable physical and emotional energy. These are strains that in the long run we could pay for.
“I ask the fans to understand the dangers of this match with Parma and stand by us. Our opponents have had all work to prepare, while we returned from England and had only a few hours of training to recover.”
