Following today's meeting, Roma have chosen to begin “exclusive negotiations” for the American takeover bid from the five offers received.
A summit was held today between Unicredit bank and the Rothschild financial advisors in charge of seeing through the passage of ownership.
It was confirmed that five offers came in and the American one put forward by Thomas DiBenedetto was considered the most competitive.
“Following the statement released this morning regarding the procedure of selling the controlling shares in AS Roma, Italpetroli announce that today there was a meeting between shareholders, the club and its advisors to examine the five offers received,” read a new Press release.
“After a deep comparison of the documents, we focused on the proposal put forward by American company DiBenedetto AS Roma LLC who, based on the information provided, present themselves as the most competitive offer.
“Italpetroli have asked for the chosen bidder to provide further information on its proposal.
“We predict this to happen over the next few days, so we can quickly decide which is the best way to proceed for defining a period of exclusive negotiations to conclude the operation.”
Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that the alleged offer from Arabian investors Aabar “was never presented and we have no intention of presenting a bid in future.”
