Mario Yepes is desperate to reward the fans for their unexpected affection towards him with a first goal for Milan.
The Colombian veteran joined the San Siro giants in the summer after his contract at Chievo expired.
Netted to act as a squad player, Yepes has been thrown into the side given the injury problems to Alessandro Nesta and the need to field Thiago Silva in midfield.
Yepes has impressed onlookers with his assured performances and the Meazza faithful have applauded his efforts.
"I'm just missing a goal," the 35-year-old told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "I'd love to score and celebrate under the Curva.
"The affection of the fans has surprised me. I remember my first game at San Siro when I was given a special welcome.
"There has been an instant feeling between us which has helped me to settle. I never take a break and the fans like that."
The Rossoneri are favourites for the Scudetto after taking a five-point lead at the top of the table, a feat masterminded by boss Massimiliano Allegri.
"The squad has been won over by his mentality," Yepes added. "You know that if you work hard for him then he will give you a chance.
"That's how I got into the side and that is a stimulus for everyone."
