Alessandro Matri says he is "living the dream" after joining Juventus and then being called up to the Italy squad all in the space of a week.
The 26-year-old, who scored twice against former club Cagliari on Saturday, has yet to represent his country and is looking forward to doing so.
Speaking ahead of Italy's friendly against Germany in Dortmund on Wednesday, Matri said: "I am living the dream. My life has changed in seven days, first Juve, then La Nazionale.
"Juve gave me a great welcome, and I've just arrived here in Coverciano. Gigi Riva said 'hello' and complimented me with great affection."
Asked if he can co-exist with Inter striker Giampaolo Pazzini, he said: "As far as I am concerned, there is no rivalry with him. Perhaps it's only in the newspapers.
"Of course when I go out on the pitch I don't think about it being a challenge with him. I believe that having different characteristics can also help us play together."
