Maurizio Zamparini has been far from reassuring about Coach Delio Rossi's future. “There are discrepancies. He cannot go against the policy of the club.”
The Rosanero are flying high in fifth place, but fans started a petition this week urging the President not to cause a split with his tactician.
“The journalists have been asking me the same thing since January,” snapped Zamparini on Antenna Sicilia Catania.
“In June his contract will expire and we'll evaluate the situation. There are some discrepancies, there is no point denying it.
“The club has its policy, which is to focus on youth, and Rossi cannot go against the policy of the club.
“Every two or three years we need to sell and to renew, especially as with the new financial fair play regulations each side must increase revenue compared to costs.
“We must therefore guarantee €10m more per season, otherwise we cannot enter Serie A without money out of my pocket.”
Fabio Liverani has terminated his contract by mutual consent and is seeking another side.
“If he is unable to find a new club, then he can stay to continue training with us, but I hope for his sake that he can continue his playing career elsewhere.”
