Guidolin fears Udinese complacency

Francesco Guidolin is worried that Udinese's fine form will lead them to be “complacent” against Cesena.

The Friulani are arguably the form team in Serie A at the moment and have surged up the table to joint fifth place.

“Cesena may not be a decisive match, but it is certainly an important step,” insisted the tactician.

“We're facing a side that is fighting with all it has to avoid relegation. They reinforced in January and have already beaten Milan and Lazio on home turf.

“It is also a strange time during international week, as I don't have the players at my disposal throughout the lead-up and that makes me anxious.

“I appeal to the professionalism of the lads. We haven't been able to prepare as well as I'd have liked, but I trust them not to be complacent.

“Let's not forget, we started the season with five consecutive defeats. That is in the past now, but we will not forget it.”

Goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has now recovered and should start against Cesena.
