Giuseppe Rossi says it will be very emotional to play at the San Paolo when Villarreal take on Napoli this evening in the Europa League.
The 24-year-old striker usually only gets to visit Italy while on international duty and last played on the peninsula for Parma four years ago.
"There will be a strong emotion," he said. "It'll have an influence at the start of the game, but then it will pass.
"I have reflected in the last few days on having never played Napoli. If you add that for me playing in Italy already offers strong emotions…
"From the Europa League draw to today, Napoli have improved a lot. Walter Mazzarri has done a great job."
Asked about reports linking his future with Napoli, Rossi said: "I am not thinking about it. There is a game to play and I want to finish the season well with Villarreal.
"I am sure that we will go through just as I am sure that it will be difficult over two legs."
