Malesani: 'Bologna uncontainable'

Alberto Malesani was ecstatic at Bologna's last-minute victory over Palermo. “Opponents struggle to contain us.”

The Rossoblu have now won their last three home games on the trot and Daniele Paponi scored the 90th-minute winner.

“This is a Bologna side that plays great football. Opponents struggle to contain us and we saw today that as time went on, Palermo were having more and more trouble dealing with us,” said the Coach.

“While we were playing, I told the lads we had to keep calm, as this was a game we could win.”

They were given a boost when Santiago Garcia saw red for a second bookable offence on the hour mark.

Substitute Paponi got the goal and Malesani revealed an interesting behind the scenes incident.

“I had advised Paponi to go and play elsewhere during the January transfer window, but he managed to win my trust and now is achieving great things.”
