Serse Cosmi is the new Palermo boss after Delio Rossi was unsurprisingly sacked on Monday evening.

Rossi was all set for the chop after Sunday's humiliating 7-0 home defeat to in-form Udinese.

A furious President Maurizio Zamparini claimed yesterday that Rossi had just a one per cent chance of remaining.

After interviewing numerous candidates on Monday, Zamparini has now taken the decision to show Rossi the door.

Cosmi, who made his name in Serie A with Perugia, has officially been appointed by the Rosanero.

The new Coach will be presented to the media on Tuesday at Rome's Borghesiana training facility.
