Fabrizio Miccoli has revealed that Palermo have set their sights on winning the Coppa Italia this season rather than qualifying for the Champions League.
Sunday's 7-0 defeat to Udinese brought about a coaching change at the Renzo Barbera and also refocused Palermo's ambitions from here until May.
"We want the Coppa Italia Final," Miccoli said. "For me it's worth more than qualification for the Champions League.
"For a captain it's very tough to be out during a moment in which the team has need of everyone in order redeem itself, but the rest I was given was the right decision.
"We are still in the running for the Champions League. This month will be fundamental. But above all I want to be in the Final of the Coppa Italia at the Olimpico.
"And moreover I want to get into double figures in the League. Right now I am on seven," he concluded.
