Blackburn Rovers would consider the appointment of Claudio Ranieri if things don't improve under Steve Kean at Ewood Park.
Rovers have lost five of their last six games in all competitions and just two points separate the Lancashire club from the drop zone.
According to The Daily Mail, Ranieri is on a shortlist of possible replacements for Kean who recently put pen to paper on a long-term contract.
Ranieri resigned from his job in charge of Roma last month after losing the dressing room.
He has frequently spoken of a desire to return to the Premier League and has been also linked with Liverpool.
The Tinkerman has considerable experience of English football. He spent four years at the helm of Chelsea before Roman Abramovich sacked him.
Martin Jol is also said to be a candidate for the Blackburn post.
