UEFA have set a date to decide what punishment to mete out to Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.
The Italy international elbowed Shakhtar Donetsk full-back Darijo Srna in an off the ball incident at the Donbas Arena on Tuesday in a Champions League tie.
Referee Howard Webb and his assistants didn't see the elbow, but De Rossi will be tried by video evidence.
This afternoon UEFA launched a disciplinary investigation into the clash.
They will communicate their decision on March 17. De Rossi is expected to receive a three or four match ban.
Earlier today, the President of the FIGC Giancarlo Abete said Italy boss Cesare Prandelli will decide whether De Rossi's actions fall foul of the national team's ethical code.
If so, he will be ineligible for selection ahead of this month's international fixtures.
