Emanuele Giaccherini admits his amazing miss against Juventus “will give me nightmares for a long time.”
Cesena were trailing 1-0 at the time when he skipped past Gigi Buffon to hit the upright, then incredibly fired the follow-up wide of the open goal from six yards.
“I was too certain that I was going to score, but the ball bounced the other way,” he said after the 2-2 draw.
“These are mistakes that shouldn't happen, but they do. That moment will give me nightmares for a long time.
“A mistake like that can affect you, because I knew it could've changed the result. It's part of football that you make a mistake, get back up and immediately focus on the next move.
“The important thing is that we got a point out of it and overall the team put in an excellent performance.”
