Serie B: Padova sack Calori

Padova lost the derby to Cittadella on Monday night and have fired Coach Alessandro Calori.

The Serie B club were beaten 3-1 by their local rivals yesterday evening and are without a victory for 10 rounds.

“Padova announce that this morning the club removed Coach Alessandro Calori from his post,” read a statement.

“We thank Calori for his professional behaviour and hard work. Today's training session will be overseen by Primavera youth team Coach Alessandro Dal Canto.”

It is unclear whether this represents a permanent solution until the end of the season or just a caretaker role until a new Coach can be assigned.

Padova have just 37 points from 31 rounds and are hovering above the relegation play-out zone.
