Line-ups: Lucio in, Zanetti out

Lucio and Esteban Cambiasso recover to start, but Javier Zanetti is out with flu, as Inter must beat Bayern in Munich to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

The reigning trophy holders lost the first leg 1-0 at San Siro and have a tough game ahead of them, kick-off at 19.45 UK time.

Giampaolo Pazzini is ineligible, while Diego Milito and Walter Samuel are injured, so Samuel Eto'o must play as a centre-forward with Goran Pandev and support from Wesley Sneijder.

There were question marks over whether Lucio would be able to face his former club after he was diagnosed with a strained gluteal muscle, but has made a lightning recovery to start.

Cambiasso and Thiago Motta are also back, the Italy international apparently starting just in front of the defence.

The big surprise is that captain Zanetti is not even on the bench, as he came down with a bout of flu.

Bayern have a perfect home record in the competition so far this season with seven straight victories and seem to have turned a corner after Coach Louis Van Gaal confirmed he'll be leaving in the summer.

That announcement was followed by a 6-0 demolition of Hamburg in the Bundesliga this weekend.

The only absentee for the Germans is Ivica Olic, suffering from a long-term injury.

Curiously, Inter are unbeaten in their two previous visits to Munich, earning a 2-0 win for the 1988-89 UEFA Cup and 1-1 draw in the 2006-07 Champions League.

Bayern Munich: Kraft; Lahm, Van Buyten, Breno, Pranjic; Schweinsteiger, Luiz Gustavo; Robben, Muller, Ribery; Gomez

Bayern bench: Butt, Hamit Altintop, Ottl, Klose, Badstuber, Kroos, Tymoshchuk

Inter: Julio Cesar; Maicon, Ranocchia, Lucio, Chivu; Thiago Motta; Stankovic, Cambiasso; Sneijder; Eto'o, Pandev

Inter bench: Castellazzi, Cordoba, Kharja, Mariga, Materazzi, Coutinho, Nagatomo
