Thiago Motta revealed what happened in the Allianz Arena locker room and feels Inter “are targeting the Scudetto and Champions League.”
The midfielder was part of the squad that completed that historic turnaround to win 3-2 in Munich and reach the quarter-finals.
“Obviously Leonardo complimented everyone, but he too was very happy. It was in some ways a new sensation for him, as he hasn't been a Coach for long, so he experienced it intensely along with us,” Thiago told Goal.com.
“That was a crucial victory for Inter and all of Italian football, as at that moment nobody believed in us any more. It looked as if all Serie A sides would go out and Italian football wasn't at the same level any more, but we proved that's not the case.”
The Nerazzurri are the favourites to reach the semi-finals after drawing Schalke 04 in the quarters.
“It's only normal that we are at this stage and, like last season, we are targeting the Champions League victory.
“We can win the Scudetto, too. We're close to Milan, have the derby coming up and so have every chance of making it.”
Before that match, the teams are away on international duty and Thiago Motta is playing for Italy.
“It was such a wonderful feeling to wear the Azzurri jersey. I never thought about a Brazil call. I know people say it's the best for a Brazilian, but that's not how I feel.”
