Milan director of sport Ariedo Braida launched a stinging attack on Napoli. “They talked about a northern conspiracy, but errors went their way.”
President Aurelio De Laurentiis and Coach Walter Mazzarri had very publicly complained about referees, suggesting Napoli being so high up the table was “an irritant” for the powers that be.
“I would like to know what Napoli think now,” blasted Milan director of sport Braida on 7 Gold television.
“Up until a few rounds ago they were talking about a northern conspiracy. In recent games, we saw they scored a clearly offside goal at Parma and a very generous penalty against Cagliari.
“Meanwhile, we had two goals disallowed, one of them extremely dubious. Is there no conspiracy now, then?”
The Scudetto race is now wide open with just three points separating top teams Milan, Inter and Napoli.
The next clash is the Derby della Madonnina, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic won't be able to take part despite the three-match ban being reduced to two on appeal.
“We are satisfied. We knew there was no chance Ibra could play the derby, but we are happy with this reduction.”
