Milan's title hopes could be boosted by veteran striker Pippo Inzaghi. "I'll be back in 20 days," he stated.
Inzaghi was expected to be out for the rest of the season after picking up knee ligament damage in a 3-1 win over Palermo last year.
There were even some concerns that he would never play again.
However, after successful surgery and a return to training, the former Italian international wants to contribute to Milan's Scudetto bid this term.
"I'll be back in 20 days to help Milan win," he told Sport Mediaset on Monday evening.
"I'm feeling reasonably good. My knee is no longer causing me problems. I think I'll be available in about three weeks, but only if I'm 100 per cent fit.
"I suffered a serious injury and you can't mess around with these things. In the past after injuries I returned too soon.
"My future? If I heal properly then I'd like to play on for one more season here and then end my career with Milan."
Milan, two points clear of Inter ahead of this weekend's derby, replaced Inzaghi in the January transfer window with Antonio Cassano.
