Milan defender Alessandro Nesta has dismissed talk of his retirement as premature and added that he intends to play next season.
The 35-year-old had hinted that his playing days were approaching an end, leading to speculation that he would quit in the summer.
Speaking to the Milan Channel, Nesta said: "I was badly interpreted the other time. I didn't say that I wanted to stop at the end of the season.
"They asked me at what point of my career I'm at and I replied that I am almost at the end, but not right at the end.
"I hope that I will still be able to play even if perhaps I won't be able to play every game.
"Actually this year I am very satisfied because I have played a lot, but perhaps I can't play every three days."
