Having fired him only a month ago, Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini hints he could extend Delio Rossi's contract.
“He has another option for next season. We'll see at the end of this term how to organise for the future,” said the patron.
Rossi was sacked after a 7-0 home defeat to Udinese, then recalled 35 days later when Serse Cosmi lost three of his four games in charge.
There was a huge amount of controversy over the last match, the 4-0 derby defeat to Catania, as Cosmi claimed Zamparini had ordered him to play a not 100 per cent fit Javier Pastore and drop Fabrizio Miccoli.
“I spoke to Miccoli yesterday and we cleared up the misunderstanding. He is very close to the city of Palermo and is fired up once more, ready to do well. I didn't ask Rossi anything about the line-up.”
Pastore has been repeatedly linked with a transfer to the new Roma when investor Thomas Di Benedetto takes over.
“Every day we read different things in the newspapers. The Roman papers are having fun by inventing stories, but Pastore will not go to Roma. Di Benedetto still has to prove his potential.”
