Totti backs Ancelotti to coach Roma

Roma talisman Francesco Totti says that one day in the future he would like to be coached by Carlo Ancelotti.

The Chelsea manager has been strongly linked with Roma and is said to be on the shortlist drafted by Roma's prospective new American owners.

"Ancelotti has always said that sooner or later he will coach Roma and even if I am 34 I hope to still be there when he arrives," Totti said.

Asked about his resurgence in form, he replied: "Now at Trigoria I am no longer sad. I have always said that I find myself more at ease as a centre-forward.

"I score goals and make others score goals. In addition I have more freedom of movement. But I am not asking for anything ahead of next season.

"If the Coach makes me first or second striker there won't be any problems, but I find myself better in this position and I do what I want."
