Lazio are closing in on making Galatasaray midfielder Lorik Cana their first summer signing, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The 27-year-old Albania international is high up on Lazio's list of priorities for his drive and physicality.
Il Corriere understands Lazio have initially bid €4.5m for Cana, but are prepared to raise that offer to a figure nearer €6m.
Asked about the deal last night, Lazio President Claudio Lotito said: "I have given Igli Tare the job of bringing the Albanian player to Rome.
"He can be useful to our midfield and our defence. We need someone like Cana. He is always at the ready physically and has experience."
However, it's thought Galatasaray are holding out for an offer closer to €8m meaning Lazio have some negotiating to do before a deal can be finalised.
