Lecce midfielder Andrea Bertolacci is excited following his call up to the Italy Under-21 squad.
The Azzurrini are due to face Russia in a friendly in Padua this evening.
Bertolacci has been fundamental to Lecce's recent bid for survival.
He is currently on loan from Roma and hope to return to the capital a better player.
"I have earned my place as a started in Serie A by working with Lecce to survive," he said.
"We are possessed and that helps."
Asked about his future at Roma, Bertolacci said: "We'll sit down at the end of the season and see what happens, but for now I can't believe that I've been called up."
