Dejan Stankovic is confident Inter can overturn their 5-2 defeat to Schalke tonight. “In normal circumstances, we'd have had no problems.”
The Champions League holders must score at least four goals in Gelsenkirchen this evening to reach the semi-finals.
“Clearly it was not a great week for us, as we were very surprised by the defeat and negative performance in the first leg,” the midfielder told German newspaper Bild.
“But I don't see why we shouldn't be able to overturn the result. Don't forget, we are still the strongest side in Europe.
“If everything had been in normal circumstances, we'd have had no problems against Schalke.”
That first leg came just three days after a very costly 3-0 Serie A loss to Milan.
