Delio Rossi insists his side are focused on Saturday's match against Roma and not Wednesday's Coppa Italia semi-final at home to Milan.
Palermo's season has been shambolic since the turn of the year with President Maurizio Zamparini firing Rossi only to then bring him back after dismissing Serse Cosmi.
"It would be mistake to concentrate on the Coppa," Rossi said. "We have to turn our attention back to tomorrow's game.
"We always need to find the right motivation in our work independently of the game ahead. I believe that the game against Roma has a great importance and I am also convinced that it can be fundamental to our performance on Wednesday.
"Doing well against Roma can give our team a mental boost for the upcoming games in general and the semi-final against Milan in particular."
