Sampdoria fell to yet another defeat and are sliding towards relegation, but Alberto Cavasin has not lost faith.
“I don't think the referee helped us,” he said of their 3-0 defeat to Serie A leaders Milan.
“We were approaching the game the way we had to, by defending in an organised fashion.
“In my view, the free kick that broke the deadlock should not have been awarded, as Kevin-Prince Boateng went looking for it.
“Plus the penalty was a bad decision, as Mario Yepes pushed Daniele Gastaldello before his header.”
Antonio Cassano converted the spot-kick against his former club, who he left in bitter circumstances in January.
“He was in good shape before, he is in good shape now and once again this evening proved his worth,” said Cavasin.
“We have not scored in too long, but next Sunday we have to face Bari and give it everything we've got. After that there is the derby, which could help us.”
