Villarreal have hopes of adding Sebastian Giovinco to Giuseppe Rossi in their line-up for next season.
Villarreal sporting director Antonio Cordon revealed as much in an interview with Sky Sport 24 on Monday.
"In terms of characteristics, I really like Giovinco," Cordon stated of the player who is on loan at Parma from Juventus.
Turning his attention to Rossi, the official was keen to stress that he hopes to still have the Italian at his club's disposal next term.
"We hope to keep him here for some years yet," Cordon added. "Giuseppe and Villarreal want to continue our fantastic relationship.
"We don't want to sell players, but buy."
Rossi, now a regular in Cesare Prandelli's international set-up, has been hotly linked with Barcelona in recent times.
"Barca? The only thing certain is that Rossi is one of the best players in Europe and Barcelona always follow the best," the directed concluded.
Juventus made an enquiry for Rossi last summer, before Tottenham had a £30m bid rejected by the Spanish club in January.
