The President of the Ukrainian FA Hryhoriy Surkis has categorically denied reports linking his national team with the appointment of Marcello Lippi.
Ukraine are looking for a new Coach to replace caretaker boss Yuriy Kalitvintsev ahead of the European Championship in 2012, which they are hosting alongside neighbours Poland.
Yesterday Lippi was asked about speculation regarding the Ukraine job, to which he said: "I am not speaking to the Press until I return to work, but it won't be long."
Surkis has since come out to pour cold water on Lippi's candidacy, telling journalists: "They are rumours deprived of any foundation because we already have a Coach who occupies himself with the national team."
It's now thought that Kalitvintsev will get the job on a permanent basis.
