Francesco Totti insists that those buying into the club have to understand that Roma must come before everything.
Earlier this month, American businessman Thomas Di Benedetto completed the £67m takeover of Roma.
Writing in Il Corriere dello Sport, Totti made an effort to focus the club.
"There are four games left until the end of the season. The objectives of all teams are still in discussion perhaps like never before.
"The only team who have a considerable advantage is Milan. By now they are a step from the Scudetto.
"Italy must get back to being a protagonist also in Europe.
"We have the obligation to finish in fourth place.
"I believe that the objective of the current directors and of those who come in to the club in the new structure must all row together in the same direction for the good of Roma."
Finally, Totti once again got behind Vincenzo Montella and staked his case to keep his job.
"The current Coach is putting in a lot of professionalism, passion and a sense of belonging to these colours.
"Often there is a tendency to go outside of the club in search of resources when maybe they are already present and perhaps even better than what you can find abroad.
"It's difficult to find professionals who are so attached to this club."
