Malesani: 'Milan win not a given'

Alberto Malesani has no intention of making Milan's Scudetto celebrations easy. “Bologna's defeat is not a given.”

The Rossoneri cannot clinch the title today even with a victory, as Inter and Napoli both won their Saturday games.

However, a win would mean they'd need only one point from their remaining three matches to secure the Serie A crown.

“Milan are a fantastic squad and I adore them, but my lads are concentrated and Bologna's defeat is not a given,” warned Coach Malesani.

“We are capable of achieving big results in critical arenas. I am most concerned by the team work of Milan and that is thanks to their manager, Massimiliano Allegri.

“We are fully aware that our opponents are superior, but we hope to bridge that gap with a great performance.”

His side had somewhat taken their foot off the gas after reaching the 40-point mark, but after four consecutive defeats they are no longer looking entirely safe from the threat of relegation.

“My players want to emerge from this difficult period and return to being the team they were before.

“We must not make a drama out of this. The crisis we're going through was also experienced by Palermo and Udinese this season. Naturally it looked worse because it happened just as we were ready for the step up in quality.

“When everything goes wrong, you need to be humble and I hope to bring this calm state of mind to the squad.”
