Gigi Del Neri has told Juventus that “the Europa League is also an important target and we'll try everything” against Lazio.
The Bianconeri are effectively out of the race for the top four, but as things currently stand wouldn't qualify for Europe at all.
“It is our duty to leave nothing to chance. In football anything can happen,” said the Coach ahead of tomorrow night's match.
“We must pick up points and act as if we hadn't dropped that 2-0 lead against Catania last week. Nothing is set in stone and in any case even the Europa League is an important target.
“Now we'll try everything we can against Lazio. We've looked as if we were out of the running for the Champions League many times this season, but always got back into it.”
Juve have dropped numerous points against the smaller sides, but earned victories over the likes of Milan and Inter.
“Those errors did transform our campaign, but we always faced sides that were highly motivated and played beyond their capabilities.”
The media speculate that Del Neri won't be on the bench next season, although Gigi Buffon and Alessandro Del Piero defended their Coach this week.
“I am pleased, but I am not friends with the players. I read in newspapers that the tactician should go to dinner with his players and be their buddy, but I don't believe that. I think a Coach should look after his men and respect the different roles.”
