Juventus ace Claudio Marchisio hasn't yet given up hope of qualifying for the Champions League.
The Bianconeri are still seventh in Serie A, but are four points behind Lazio and three shy of Udinese and Roma with three games to go.
"Perhaps even we didn't believe that we could get back into the Champions League chase a month ago," he said on Tuesday.
"But now we are, especially as we have better head-to-head records against our rivals should we finish level on points with them.
"Our objective is to win the last three games that remain and then see what the others get up to."
Juventus closed the gap last night with a 1-0 win at Lazio, but their opponents felt that they should have had a penalty before Simone Pepe netted the only goal late on.
"I have to say that it was a penalty on Sergio Floccari, but the referee also didn't give us a clear spot-kick either [for a foul on Felipe Melo].
"The two balanced each other out so I don't think it is right to add to the controversy."
The Italian international midfielder also praised boss Gigi Del Neri who continues to see his position questioned ahead of the new campaign.
"He was good enough to keep the squad united in the difficult moments," Marchisio continued. "As far as I am concerned, all of us are behind the Coach."
