Pastore will stay, say Palermo

Palermo are confident, very confident, that Javier Pastore will spend at least one more campaign at the club.

The ultra-talented Argentine is one of the most highly-rated players in the European game right now.

He's been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Roma, Juventus and lately Milan, but the Rosanero insist he's going nowhere this summer.

"There are no negotiations taking place for him," Palermo Vice-President Guglielmo Micciché told Radio Sportiva.

"I know that [Milan transfer guru Ariedo] Braida is in love with Pastore and he wanted him a few years ago, but I think Pastore will remain with us for at least one more year.

"Actually, I can say that with certainty."

The Stadio Barbera official was also inevitably questioned on the future of boss Delio Rossi given his difficult relationship with President Maurizio Zamparini.

"We'll talk with Rossi at the end of the season," he stated. "We'll analyse the situation and see if we can continue together.

"The Coppa Italia will also play no part in our decision about his future. We know Rossi and understand his value."

Palermo play Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final this evening having drawn 2-2 in the first leg at San Siro.
