Alessandro Matri can't bring himself to blame boss Gigi Del Neri for Juventus' problems this season.
The Old Lady have had a frustrating campaign and there is a possibility that they may not qualify for European competition next term.
Del Neri has been heavily criticised for the club's struggles, but Matri is backing the Juventus tactician.
"Del Neri chose me and he had faith in my abilities," said the January loan signing from Cagliari.
"I know the Coach as the man that he is and I will defend him.
"The tactician is not to blame for this situation. It's just easier to put the blame on one person rather than on everyone."
Despite the club's problems, Matri has had a decent spell in Turin thanks to his eight goals in 15 League games.
Juventus do have the opportunity to sign Matri outright in the summer if they pay Cagliari a fee of €15.5m.
