Francesco Guidolin warns Udinese that “the toughest climb is Milan,” as they battle for Champions League qualification.
The Friulani are currently two points clear of Lazio in the race for fourth spot and will be in the preliminary round if they pick up at least a point against the Rossoneri on Sunday.
“We are going into the toughest climb of all,” said cycling enthusiast Guidolin, using a metaphor for the Giro d'Italia race up mountains.
“We are facing Milan, who are the best team in Serie A, so I do not agree with those who say we are now very close to the finish line and have no more obstacles in our way.
“It is certainly true that we are in good shape and will try to oppose the Rossoneri as best we can, but nothing is to be taken for granted.
“I repeat, Massimiliano Allegri's team are the toughest we could've faced this weekend.”
It should also be noted that Milan have already won the Scudetto, while Lazio would also have to win away to Lecce in order to catch Udinese in the final round of the season.
“That is true, but we have to play as we always do, without making calculations. As for Lazio, I am focusing only on our own result,” concluded the Coach.
