Juventus will have a new Coach next season, but Antonio Conte insists “I haven't signed anything yet and am still in charge of Siena.”
In today's Press conference Gigi Del Neri confirmed he will not be at the helm next term, a decision that directors told him on Wednesday.
Now that Del Neri has officially been sacked with a year left to run on his contract, Juve are expected to appoint Conte on Monday.
“I am still in charge of Siena and have not signed anything yet,” protested Conte today.
“I am pleased to be associated with a great club like Juventus. The season isn't over yet in Serie A or B, so it's only right to say I am still considered the Coach of Siena until after the final game with Albinoleffe.”
Siena have nothing more to play for this term, having already mathematically achieved promotion.
It is a return to Turin for Conte, who wore the Bianconeri jersey for many years.
“We'll see what happens at the end of the season. Right now I just want to end this campaign in the best way by giving the Siena fans more joyous moments.”
