Milan chief Adriano Galliani will reportedly meet with the agent of Antonio Cassano at some stage on Wednesday.
The fantasista's future has been placed into some doubt ahead of the 2012 European Championship.
Although Milan are happy to keep him and the player is content at San Siro, the January arrival from Sampdoria may consider an exit if he receives offers from elsewhere.
Cassano is not guaranteed first team football at Milan in a squad which includes Robinho, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alexandre Pato and Pippo Inzaghi.
He made 17 appearances for the champions in the past campaign, but only totalled 921 minutes – that's an average of 54 minutes per match.
Reaching Euro 2012 with Italy is an important target for a player whose past problems have seen him miss out on World Cup tournaments.
He did feature at Euro 2004 and Euro 2008, but both of those competitions ended in disappointment.
Cassano, who is represented by Giuseppe Bozzo, has been strongly linked with Fiorentina in the past few weeks after almost joining the Viola in January 2010.
Napoli and Palermo have also been associated even if Rosanero chief Maurizio Zamparini ruled out his proposed capture earlier this month.
