Alessandro Diamanti couldn't stop Brescia's relegation, but “it would be fantastic to play for Fiorentina.”
The 28-year-old former West Ham United talent has been linked with several clubs since the Rondinelle were doomed to Serie B.
“Many things went wrong this season at Brescia, otherwise we wouldn't have gone down. We're a good squad and it's truly a shame to end this way,” Diamanti told firenzeviola.it.
“I come from Prato, so returning to that area and playing in Florence would be fantastic. In the past there was never anything concrete, but I hope that something can come of it.
“Fiorentina are a great side and Valon Behrami is a good friend. I was the one who advised him to make the move from West Ham to Florence.
“I also confessed that I'd like to play alongside him for Fiorentina.”
