Relegated Sampdoria should announce the name of their new Coach in the next seven days.
"We might have to wait for a little while longer with regards to making the appointment official," new Doria sporting director Pasquale Sensibile told TGN Calcio.
"That is not because we don't have clear ideas, it is just regarding a question of opportunity," he continued. "You might have to wait until the middle of next week."
Sampdoria are looking for a new Coach after Domenico Di Carlo and then Alberto Cavasin failed to keep them in Serie A.
They have been linked with a variety of tacticians, the latest being Stefano Pioli after he confirmed his Chievo exit yesterday.
"His work was certainly extraordinarily positive at Chievo," Sensibile continued. "He is liked by a lot of ambitious clubs, clubs like Sampdoria."
In an odd twist, Di Carlo could actually return to Chievo after leaving the Verona minnows for Samp last summer.
