Antonio Di Natale reveals the “secret to our success” as Udinese reached the Champions League and he retained the Capocannoniere title.
“The secret to our success was our unity. In difficult moments, we remained a tight-knit group, as without that we wouldn't have survived,” he told the official club website.
“The lads gave their all, the Coach drummed that winning mentality into us and at the end we reached this important achievement.
“I am happy for the Pozzo family, who have been with this club for 25 years and every season manage to do something wonderful. I thank them all on behalf of the squad.
“I also thank the fans, who were exceptional and never stopped cheering us on until the final whistle, even in difficult times.”
Udinese started the season with four consecutive defeats, but finished in fourth place and with Di Natale retaining his Capocannoniere crown.
“Last season I had scored 29 goals, while I got 28 this time round. It's wonderful for me, but I think also for the Udinese supporters.
“I believe it must be a nice feeling to have a striker in your squad who scores 57 goals in two years.”
