Montella holds Catania talks

Catania have joined Chievo Verona in showing an interest in available Roma boss Vincenzo Montella.

Chievo yesterday admitted that they were looking at the possibility of appointing Montella, but the Sicilian outfit are in the hunt too.

Italian news agency ANSA claims that Montella, currently on holiday in Taormina, has discussed the Catania option with club officials.

Catania are looking for a new Coach after former Lazio player Diego Simeone left by mutual consent this week.

Montella was appointed as Roma tactician, from the youth academy, in February following Claudio Ranieri's resignation after the 4-3 loss at Genoa.

Meanwhile, former Chievo boss Stefano Pioli signed a two-year contract with Palermo earlier today.
