Roberto Donadoni prepares for his Cagliari debut in a relegation dogfight with Brescia. “We must show no fear.”
The former Italy Coach was brought in this week to replace Pierpaolo Bisoli after a series of poor results.
“Obviously I cannot think about making huge changes in such a short space of time,” noted Donadoni.
“We worked well and are aware of the difficulties we will run into against Brescia, but hope to play a good game.
“We must play with a calm attitude, decision and determination. We'll find a fiery atmosphere, but must show no fear or allow ourselves to be intimidated.”
Donadoni was only appointed on Tuesday, but insists he has already settled in well.
“I immediately settled in with the squad. It's a group of good lads and real professionals. A team finds balance with players of quality and quantity. They must have the grit to always push for the victory.”
There are quite a few absentees for this trip to the Rigamonti, as Francesco Pisano, Manuele Blasi, Andrea Lazzari and Mikhail Sivakov are injured with Alessandro Agostini suspended.
Alex Pinardi was all set to play, but pulled up with a right thigh problem during Saturday's training session.
Donadoni is likely to maintain the 4-3-1-2 system with Andrea Cossu behind Alessandro Matri and Robert Acquafresca.
