Cesena have admitted that they are interested in Adrian Mutu – although the Fiorentina player's salary could be a problem.
"We are not hiding the fact that Mutu is an objective for us this summer," President Igor Campedelli noted.
"We already wanted him in January, but the issue, which we may not have a solution for, are his wages. I don't know if we can afford them."
Mutu, a Romanian international, is understood to be earning around €2m a season after tax in Tuscany.
Meanwhile, Campedelli also confirmed that the Sea Horses are very interested in two Lazio players.
"We do like Pasquale Foggia and Sergio Floccari," the chief continued. "Foggia has been specifically requested by boss Marco Giampaolo.
"He can return to being an important player at Cesena. However, his wages are also a problem for us."
The Italian international, who worked with Giampaolo at Ascoli and Cagliari, is on around €800,000 a year until June 2013.
