Hernanes targets London 2012 gold

Lazio midfielder Hernanes has a dream – to triumph with Brazil at the 2012 Olympic Games next summer.

"My great dream is to win the gold medal at the Olympics, because it is a title that Brazil are lacking," stated the midfielder who has been left out of the Copa America squad.

"Seeing as teams can pick three players over the age of 23, I hope to be selected by the Coach for London 2012.

"My other objective is obviously the World Cup – I'll just look to be ready if I am given the possibility to play for my country."

Hernanes joined Lazio last summer from Sao Paulo and he's happy with his first 12 months in the world of Italian football.

"My first season in Europe was very positive," stated the man who netted 11 goals. "I quickly adapted because I was welcomed by everybody at Lazio.

"It was important that the fans showed me their affection. I really like Rome as a city and I'm very happy."
