Panathinaikos acknowledge negotiations with Lazio for striker Djibril Cissè. “We need to sell some of our important players.”
It was known for several days that the Biancocelesti were closing in on former Liverpool hitman Cissè.
It is believed they have offered €5m for the player, although Panathinaikos are hoping for €6m.
“At this moment the economic situation is not the best, so to keep going we need to sell some of our important players and replace them with promising youngsters,” Vice-President Dimitris Gontikas told Cittaceleste.
“We are in negotiations with Lazio, but at this moment in time we have no intention of revealing further details.”
There are also big question marks over talks for personal ters, as it's rumoured Cissè would like €2m per season in wages.
