Cesena have made a sensational U-turn by signing Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu on Thursday.
The Sea Horses stated earlier this week that their pursuit of the Romanian international had come to an end.
However, Fiorentina have this evening confirmed that the 32-year-old has been sold to the Serie A minnows.
It's unclear at this stage how much Cesena have paid for the veteran striker who joined the Viola in 2006 from Juventus.
"I'm enthusiastic about the move and I can't wait to start this new adventure," stated the forward.
"I thank Cesena President Igor Campedelli for signing me and putting me in the middle of an ambitious project such as the Cesena one."
It's understood that Mutu, who was close to joining Cesena in January, has signed a two-year deal with the option for a third.
It was thought that Mutu's wages would be a problem for the club who survived the drop this season, but he's accepted a pay cut.
